Congratulations to Dave Wood, who was ordained to the diaconate on June 9, 2018 at Holy Cross Chapel located at the Adelynrood Retreat Center! Our newest deacon lives in the Boston area and has a deep love for the traditional liturgy. We're excited for him and looking forward to his diaconate year as he takes his next steps to prepare for the priesthood. A few pictures below!

We are pleased to announce the ordination of Dave Wood to the Diaconate on June 9 at the morning Mass at the ICCC clergy retreat. Please keep Dave in your prayers as he prepares for this important step on the path to the priesthood.  This Lent the Oratory of St. Faustina (Subdeacon Dave Wood) will be offering a three part series on traditional liturgy. The Independent Catholic Christian Church is devoted to liturgical diversity and thus commonly uses several different rites on a regular basis drawn from both the Roman and Anglican traditions. In this series we will be focusing on the Tridentine use of the mass that was used in the Roman Church prior to the second Vatican Council. We will first look at the structure of this form of Mass (March 1), then some of the rich symbolism found within the mass (March 8), and finally looking at the spirituality that this form of the mass evokes and how our individual spirituality are shaped by our liturgical expressions (March 15). Each session is expected to last one hour and will be broadcast online. No special equipment is required simply a computer with internet access and a phone. What better way to prepare ourselves for the Easter mysteries than to delve more deeply into our long liturgical traditions. With a community in the Boston area and one in the Philadelphia regions, Super Bowl fever has hit the ICCC along with a friendly wager! The losing side will make a donation to a charity of the winning side's choosing. If the Patriot's win, our Philadelphia community, St. Mary of Grace Parish Independent Catholic Christian Church, will be sending a donation to Beverly Bootstraps. If the Eagles, win our Boston Community, Oratory of St. Catherine of Siena, will be sending a donation to the Media Food Bank.  A special thanks to Joanne and Kristi, who are continuing with the intercessory prayer ministry begun by Br. Bob. This ministry is part of the Mt. Carmel Apostate of Prayer. We have been blessed with Br. Bob's dedication to this ministry over the years and are glad to see his legacy continue and live on in the parish and jurisdiction. If you have any intentions or people you would like held in prayer, please leave a comment below or send us a message. We will enter them into our book of intentions and will remember them in prayer.  On November 2, 2018, Dave Wood was ordained to the major order of Subdeacon, the next step on this path to priesthood. This is the first of the major orders and represents a permanent commitment that a clergyperson makes to the Independent Catholic Christian Church and that the ICCC makes to the clergyperson. We are thrilled for Dave and for the ICCC! Congratulations to Dave Wood on his ordination to the minor order of Acolyte, the next step on the way to priesthood. It was wonderful to have him, Mtr. Sandy, and Fr. Michael at St. Mary of Grace Parish for Dave's ordination!  We are pleased to announce the ordination of seminarian Dave Wood to the order of Acolyte on September 24 at the 4 p.m. Mass at St. Mary of Grace Parish. Hello everyone - We are sad to write that Br. Robert Julian Dabrow passed away unexpectedly on August 26 the Feast of the Transverberation of the Heart of St. Teresa of Jesus. He was a beloved member of the jurisdiction and will be greatly missed.

We thank you for giving him to us, his family and friends, to know and to love as a companion on our earthly pilgrimage. In your boundless compassion, console us who mourn. Give us faith to see in death the gate of eternal life, so that in quiet confidence we may continue our course on earth, until, by your call, we are reunited with those who have gone before; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Lyngine, and Michael D. from St. Mary of Grace Parish, our ICCC community near Philadelphia/northern Delaware, attended a rally in Media to stand against racism, white supremacy, and anti-Semitism in response to the violence by Nazi and KKK supporters in Charlottesville yesterday. Bp. Tim spoke briefly, as did a number of other people, including several clergy. Thank you the organizers and all who attended. |
